Draft Greater Lincolnshire Local Nature Recovery Strategy public consultation now live!

12 February 2026

A draft Greater Lincolnshire Local Nature Recovery Strategy is now out for public consultation, running until 8th March.

Details of the consultation can be found here

As per Government Guidance on the Statutory Biodiversity Metric, the Management Board has agreed that this draft should be used for the purposes of informing strategic significance within biodiversity net gain with the following considerations:

  • Action 47 regarding predator fencing is not to inform strategic significance.
  • Action 146 regarding Local Wildlife sites (LWS), LWS should be buffered with like or complimentary habitat.
  • Action 76 regarding buffering waterways to reduce run off. Buffers should consist of appropriate habitat. In the case that Action 76 overlaps with a habitat specific action the named action is the strategically significant option.
  • The Draft LNRS will be superseded by the published LNRS.
